The scarce reprint (limited to 200 sets) of this early periodical that, despite its title, routinely reported on matters of interest to numismatists. Nashville: Printed at "Union and American" Book and Job Rooms, 1872. 8vo, original printed yellow paper covers. 37, (3) pages. Front cover reattached with archival mending tissue; rear lacking. Very good or so. Rare. One might surmise the catalyst of the bank's problems from the date cited in the title, though the proliferation of Confederate notes was not the institution's only difficulty. Weaver was the bank's chief cashier and had some motivation to assign blame. Ex John J. Ford, Jr. Library.

1999. Fourth printing. 4to, original Velo binding; "spine" lettered by hand. 142 pages, printed on rectos only, being duplicated typescript and plates consisting of photocopied numismatic objects. Signed and numbered by the author. Fine. One of several iterations published by the author, all of them produced in very small numbers. This is the fourth printing of the first edition, limited to five copies. The first printing saw the release of a relatively extravagant 21 copies. The second and third printings were both unique, being produced for George F. Kolbe and Art M. Kagin, respectively. It is a valuable compendium of information on Alaskan tokens and other pieces. New. One of an edition limited to 151 numbered copies, each accompanied by an original 1517 leaf depicting a coin. Printed letterpress by Bird & Bull Press on mouldmade paper.

Cambridge: Cambridge Antiquarian Society, 1886. 8vo, original printed green paper covers. xii, 51, (1), (4) pages; illustrated, with pages 43-51 featuring 16 lithographic depictions of coin designs finely printed on thin paper and mounted on the pages. Near fine. An unusual and rather scarce work, with well-printed illustrations in the section highlighted in the title. The volume reproduces a manuscript covering a variety of matters relating to coinage, much of it written in 16th-century French; the final pages provide the titular work, and are most remarkable for their illustrations, which are mounted (the pages being printed on one side only to better accommodate the wrinkling caused by the drying adhesive). The illustrations were the work of Mr. Edwin Wilson. Manville 527 (where he discusses the work in some detail).
