Boston: D.C. Heath & Co., 1908 Good. No Jacket 16mo-over 5¾"-6¾" tall. A.P. Walker (ed. ) reviews aspects of Milton's life behind the development of "Paradise Lost" and the 17th century thought underpining this work. Books 1 and 2 are included along with notes, glossary and index. Well-bound book shows light wear at front and rear corners. Title on spine is readable but faded. Front and rear boards have some small brown stains, darker than the light tan cloth cover. Pages are clean. Former owner's name inside front cover.

New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1916 Good. No Jacket 8vo-over 7¾"-9¾" tall. Bound in deep marroon this volume has title and author in yellow lettering on spine and front board. Spine ends show rubbing and slight wear. There is an embossed publisher's symbol in the lower right corner of the front board and just above this a sharp ding to the edge. Board corners have light wear but cloth is not frayed. There are small edge tears on some pages but pages are in general clear, flexible and not discolored. Binding is tight.
