A finely printed incunable edition of Valerius Maximus's stories of Roman society. Set in a humanist typeface with the commentary of Oliverius Arziganensis which first appeared in 1487. Vanini published this in 1615 this work which though mystical in nature, wasn't heretical and it was licensed - his next work, the next year, was burnt and he was sentenced to have his tongue plucked out and himself burned which he was on Feburary 19, 1619.
