Stead was a British author and humanitarian who fought against child prostitution, founded monthly Review of Reviews, explored psychic research and spiritualism, advocated world peace through arbitration, and predicted gradual world domination due to American ideas, values, democracy, education and production. He died on the Titantic.

Spring St., Los Angeles"". 233 pages + 6 pages of ads. Lovely book with beveled edges, green cloth with gilt lettering on the spine, and black title and grape cluster illustration on the front cover. Front cover cloth has a horizontal wrinkle below title. No writing, tears, or stains. Binding and hinges intact. Pages clean and tight. Light rubbing at extremities with 1/8"" dot of cloth loss to one corner tip.
