Includes identified pictures of drivers; an entry list (car/driver/owner); double-page blank score card at the center; two captioned shots of a racing wreck; a list of officials, sponsors, concessioners, etc.; lots of great sponsors advertising. "A full program of midget auto racing is scheduled for the Hippodrome Stadium Sunday at 8pm. The Hippodrome is located at 21st South and 8th West. Seven big events are on the card which is the second big midget program since completion of remodeling of the stadium." - Salt Lake Telegram (8/23/1947).

Denver: Williamson Haffner Company, 1935. Giant post card [15 cm x 19.5 cm] printed in color. Near fine. "Centuries before the dawn of human story the elements chiseled out the huge grooves at right angles to one another that forms the sacred cross. The snows fill the great gulches, and, lo! the cross appears, as it is flashed upon a dark screen by an electrical appliance. Just after leaving Tennessee Pass the cross can be seen from the Denver & Rio Grande car windows." - from the back.

One side prints a map and description of the Flying W's chuck wagon suppers and original show. The reverse prints a description of the ranch and the amenities offered. "Flying W. About very good with a few small splits at the folds. One side prints a map [21 cm x 19 cm] of Colorado that locates 47 different dude ranches, that map is surrounded by individual descriptions of each ranch with contact information. The reverse prints brief descriptions and suggestions for enjoying yourself at a Colorado dude ranch. Includes descriptions of the Ranch and the activities offered, and black and white views of same by Harrison Crandall "It is impossible to exaggerate the scenic grandeur of the region in which the Ranch is centered.

This edition was limited to 400 signed and numbered copies, this is copy 340. " The diary of the Reverend Alexander Taylor Rankin are of intense interest, for he was in eastern Kansas during the Jefferson Territory days. Dr. Rankin met the challenge of a stern duty as a missionary on the uncomfortable frontier and in the lawless settlements of the West. He was dedicated to religious service to the week, the sinful, and the outcast, where there was no law or order, where life in most cases was corrupt and vicious, and where nearly every man was his own law." - Foreword.

This self-published book was an influence on Utah legislators when writing the state's constitution. Calvin Reasoner (1837-1911) was a transplant to Utah, who served as a probate judge in Ogden, and who wrote several influential political articles urging less state government control by the Church. [New York], 1879. 33pp. Octavo [23 cm] Salmon printed wrappers. Better than very good. Ink smudge on cover. Covers and contents are bright. George Reynolds (1842-1909) was a polygamist and church leader in Utah. In 1874, George Reynolds was chosen by both civil leaders and leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a test case for the constitutionality of the Moral Anti-Bigamy Act of 1862. Reynolds was convicted of bigamy the following year, and his conviction was upheld by the Supreme Court in 1879. He was imprisoned briefly in the Nebraska State penitentiary before being transferred to the Utah Territorial penitentiary where he served out the remainder of his sentence of two years. He thus became the first of many members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be imprisoned for practicing polygamy. Flake/Draper 6835.

I finally found a young squaw who meet requirements as to features and physique, but her husband was not at all fitted for such a scene, being a squat, bow-legged type. Nice image of the Navajo silversmith, Many Goats. "The desert winds have blown across the face of this Old Navajo silversmith for many decades. His hair was silvery white, but his hearing and eyesight were still keen. His name was 'Many Goats' and he was well off owning large flocks of both sheep and goats. He was a silversmith. The coins are his stock of silver and go down his back and up under his arm. The most recent coin was 1897. Winhold Reiss (1886-1953) was a painter, illustrator, and interior designer who emigrated from Germany to the United States in 1913, where he taught art for a time at the Art Students' League. In 1919 he traveled to Montana to paint portraits of members of the Blackfeet nation. Reiss depicted his subjects as they were, without the romanticization that many of his fellow artists at the time were using to depict Native Americans. During the summers from 1927 to 1948, Reiss spent in Glacier National Park studying and drawing members of the Blackfeet, these trips were sponsored by the Great Northern Railway, who acquired the majority of these works, and used them in promotional material.
