For each wood he provides maps on topography and woodland types, the history and notes on the flora.

The dedication from Jenny Moody is made all the more poignant given that Oliver Rackham had passed away less than a month before she wrote it.

It would appear that Oliver Rackham gave this copy of his book to his father as a gift. Then, when Oliver’s father passed away, the book went into Oliver’s library.
