This is a very nice edition of Francis Quarles major work, "Emblems, Divine and Moral." It was printed in London in 1818 at Chiswick Press by C. Whittingham in 818. 319 pages with many black and white illustrations. It is full leather with bright gilt. It measures three-and a half inches by five inches. The covers of this book were once disbound, and someone took some parchment paper and made hinges which they glued inside onto the front and back marbled endpaper areas. The result is functional which allow the user to view the book easily and which are fairly sturdy with normal careful reading. There is no looseness in the binding. There are two very small pencil notations. There is some minor foxing, mostly noticeable on some back endpapers. Fair/VG., One side is better than the other. One song skips in at least two places, you can see why it does because there is wear on part of the track. There may be others, but I did listen to quite a lot on a system with a heavier needle, and only hear skips in that one song. Otherwise, scratches and pops but not warped. Still probably enjoyable, although that depends on the person and system. Cover has great integrity just two 2-3 inch seem splits on top and bottom..
