Only the title "LITTLE LIZZIE AND THE FARIES" imprinted on the front cover and interestingly, it is spelled "FARIES" on the cover and "Fairies" on the title page. Head and foot of backstrip frayed, Pp. 68, with general title and contents leaf referring to the title Six Pleasant Companions ..., frontispiece, title-page and contents leaf referring to the present collection of articles, and numerous text woodcut illustrations. The full title adds the words "And Other Tales." which are by various contributors, many unidentified. In great shape for its age.Clean and tight. Stain at bottom of hinges and front hinge is starting to loosen with a small tear at the top. Spine and covers are bumped and worn with chipping at edges. No rubbing or bumping anywhere on the binding. The dust jacket is not price-clipped and the colors are nice and bright. However the spine head is has a small chip and there is a small, 1/2", closed tear on the spine hinge and the top back. 32 pages which are white, clean, crisp, unmarked and uncreased. A tiny bit of shelfwear on the corners and spine heel, else fine. Autographed by the author on the Introduction and by both the author and the illustrator on the title page. The front and back endplates features identical color illustrations of a gnome feeding a bird and has a bookplate on the front cover with the former owner's name. The half title page has a gift inscription to the former owner and the date. Unpaginated with beautiful color illustrations throughout the text. The front flyleaf has a price in light pencil.
