New York: Victory Music, 1991. 4 7/8 x 14" sheet, letterpress printed on card stock and folded once. Designed by Bruce Licher and Brother Awest, and printed by Licher. The striking and beautiful invitation to the release party for the second album from David Bowie's Tin Machine, and the first release from the fledgling label which would go bankrupt about three years afterwards. The invitation is notable for featuring one of the unaltered Kouroi statues similar to the cover of the album, which had been censored in the US for featuring male genitalia. Fine.

Third issue of the Belgian periodical, this is a special issue completely devoted to work by René Magritte, profusely illustrated with black and white reproductions of his work. Illustrated bookplate of the book dealer and art collector John Hunov inside front cover; typewritten title label pasted down to spine; some minor wear and toning. Very good.

San Francisco: California Academy of tyhe Sciences, 1930. First edition. 8vo, 84 pp, bound in pictorial cloth. No dust jacket. Profusely illustrated with small drawings of each bird in the text. Includes index. First edition of this beautiful book devoted to the birds of the park, written by the Curator Emiritus of the Ornithology department of the California Academy of the Sciences. It describes all the birds, with a paragraph to each describing their habits. Two yellowed newspaper articles on birds taped onto the endpapers, with yellowing and offsetting; previous owner's signature to ffep. A very good example, showing only some faint traces of soiling to the boards.

New York, 1981. 8 1/2 x 11" flyer, photo-mechanically reproduced on recto only from a photograph by Donna McAdams. A flyer for the 1981 Coney Island Show, one of the groundbreaking independent art shows - along with the Times Square Show - that changed the NYC art world at the dawn of the 1980's. Heavy overall creasing, with some minor toning to extremities - ragged and worn.

[Buffalo]: [Gallery Upstairs Press], 1968. First edition. 21 1/4 x 28 1/2", offset lithograph on thick cardboard stock. With rubberstamped facsimile of McClure's signature at verso. Visual reproduced from McClure's distinctive holograph in red, overlayed onto a found image of two lions roaring at the sea - a legend readng "Security and Trust" can be read at the foot of the image, perhaps indicating that this was appropriated from an old advertisement or bond. We wish we knew more about this gallery, located at 3400 Main St. in Buffalo, which also published John Wieners' Pressed Wafers, as well as a work by Cornelius Cardew. One of the most beautiful broadsides of the era. Several strong creases, with some minor soiling, with a couple small chips to margins slightly affecting image, but the recto presents well. Toning and several tears to verso. Very good.

London: International Times, 1967. Tabloid format, printed on newsprint. Early issue of the longrunning an influential and longrunning underground newspaper, one of the best of the era. This issue leads with a cover story on the Scotland Yard seizure of materials from both the IT offices and the Indica Bookshop, a bit on the drug charges against Dave Tomlin of Sun Trolley, a piece on the protests in Germany and the death of Benne Ohnesorg, a piece on the Good Vibrations club, etc. A clean copy, never folded, with only light toning an a couple small tears to foot of spine. Scarce in this condition. A clean, unfolded copy showing only minor toning, and scarce thus.

London: Bloom Publications, 1971. First edition. Tabloid format, offset printed on newsprint with spot color. Later issue of one of the most influential and longrunning organs of the underground press. This issue includes photographs from the Oz protests, Jody Breslaw on the apocalypse, "William Blake and the Druids" by Joy Farren, "The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz" by William Stok, a full page appeal against the extradition of Paul Rudolph of the Pink Fairies, and more. folded once, with light toning - a supple very good copy.

London: International Times, 1966. Tabloid format, unbound, folded sheets. Very early issue of the longrunning an influential and longrunning underground newspaper, one of the best of the era. This issue is notable for including a brief bit on Jimi Hendrix and his English tour, Allen Ginsberg's "Public Solitude" lecture given at the Arlington Street church, John Mitchell on Flying Saucers, comics by Jeff Nuttall, and more. Outer sheet partially frayed through at spine, otherwise a very good example with light toning and chipping.

San Francisco: Poetry Flash, 1982. 4to, 12 pp, saddle-stapled wraps. Single issue of the longrunning periodical devoted not only to information about the west coast poetry scenes, but also lots of opiniated coverage of readings, critical articles, photographs and even poems- a whole strata of information that is not published elsewhere. Worth the price of admission for the pithy reviews alone, and for the remarkably indepth criticism of readings - a rare feature for a poetry magazine of the time, and a rich resource of anecdote and histories of the smaller moments of the west coast poetry scene. This issue includes a half page review of the Taylor Mead Show at La Mammelle Gallery by Steve Abbott, a great review - also, Susan Reichman on the Poetry for the People organization, and Gerald Nicosia on Neeli Cherkovski's Love Proof, etc. Near fine with some light toning to extremities.

London: Novello, 1964. First edition. 4to, 36 pp, saddle-stapled wraps. Signed by Robert Duncan at the title page. The opening phrase of the prologue to the piece is based upon Robert Duncan's line "Often I am permitted to return to a meadow," taken from The Opening of the Field. A scarce Duncan-related publication, especially signed. Very good with a short closed tear to foot of front wrap and some fading to spine.

np, nd. 2 1/4 x 3 1/4" bookplate, perhaps printed by woodcut, a gorgeous image featuring two stalks of a thistle plant. The style appears to be the work of Jocelyn Mercier. Fine.

Girard, Kansas: Haldeman-Julius, nd. 24mo (5 x 3 1/2"), saddle-stapled wraps. Gibbs 21a, third noted variation, in the PPS(3) binding. Merrimee's classic Romantic novella, one of the earliest titles in the series. Very good with some minor toning and a light bump to upper tip.
