First Edition
Two volumes, bound in full green leather. Spine with five gilt-ruled raised bands with elaborate gilt tooling work to compartments and twin red and dark blue title and volume labels. All boards with gilt-ruled and blind-tooled border. Marbled end-papers and paste-downs. All page edges marbled. Engraved frontispiece to half-title, differing to each volume and a number of engraving wood-cuts of well-known and famous landmarks throughout each volume.
CONDITION

Nicely bound in full medium tan calf by Seton & Mackenzie. Spine with five gilt-ruled raised bands with elaborate gilt decoration to compartments and green title / author label. Twin gilt fillet borders with blind-tooled work and gilt cornices to both boards, with gilt central 'educational institute' motif in gilt, central to front board. Plain end-papers and paste-downs. All edges marbled.
CONDITION

Nicely bound in contemporary half dark tan calf over gilt-ruled light tan cloth boards. Spine with five gilt-ruled raised bands with gilt motifs central to gilt-boxed compartments, and title, author and date in gilt. Marbled light green end-papers and paste-downs. Top page edges in gilt, remainder uncut.
CONDITION
The binding is holding very firm. Boards and spine show a few marks, surface scratches and the odd dent to edges, and a one-inch mild darkening to lower wrap-around of book. otherwise in very good condition. Internally the pages are generally clean, with just some very mild uniform toning and some random spots towards latter and foremost pages. Previous owner bookplate central to front paste-down, and ink inscription to front end-paper dated 1934.

Bound in quarter calf over marbled boards. Probable 19th century spine with five raised gilt-ruled bands with elaborate herringbone style decoration to compartments, and maroon author label.
CONDITION
The binding is holding very firm. Both boards exhibit reasonable wear, scuffs and knocks with bumping to corners. Sympathetic repair marks of boards attachment to later spine visible, but not obtrusive. Spine in nice bright good condition. Internally the pages are uniformly aged with consistent browning although clean. Some foxing to paste-downs and end-papers. Previous owner inscription to front paste-down, plus ink inscriptions to front end-papers.
A very nice example of this rather rare volume.

CONDITION
The binding is in reasonable to good condition and holding. The front board is slightly cracked to the upper one inch and a little shaky to the remainder. There are scuffs, knocks, some wear, chips generally and a few losses of leather to the board corners spine top. I doubt the book has been opened to read. Internally the pages generally clean although a little dusty, with random foxing patches and spots, and some margin staining to end-papers. Previous owner bookplate central to front paste-down.
