After working at several jobs in Melbourne, he assisted fellow German photographer Conrad Wagner before opening taking over the management in 1869. He opened his own studio in 1873. A scarce example of an Austrian trade catalogue for a furniture manufacturer. Lovely examples of carved wardrobes, wash stands, mirrors etc. Illustrations of a credenza, chair and table designed by master carpenter Stefan Grund for the Vienna International Exposition in 1873.
