London: George Bell & Sons., 1897.. First edition thus. Octavo. Publisher's original cloth decorated with Arts and Crafts Movement design of scrolling vines and grapes by Robert Anning Bell to the upper board and spine; the spine with titles in gilt. Top edge gilt, the others untrimmed. Decorative endpapers. Illustrated throughout with full-page and in-text black and white illustrations by Robert Anning Bell, including frontispiece, title page, and section headings printed in red and black. A very good copy, the binding firm with some scattered marking to the boards, minor chipping to the spine ends, and bumping to the corners. The contents with toning to the endpapers and some light occasional foxing to the preliminary pages and page edges are otherwise in very good order. The first Robert Anning Bell edition of Keats's poetical works, sumptuously illustrated in the Arts and Crafts Movement style.Part of the publisher's 'Endymion' series.

Two-sided typed letter from the author, signed in ink at the foot and dated 8/9/78, loosely laid in, along with a contemporary press-clipping reviewing the book. Octavo. Publisher's original laminated boards with titles to the upper board and spine. iv, 304pp. A very good copy, the binding square and tight with a little bumping to the bottom corners and to the foot of the spine. The contents remain clean and crisp throughout. The typed letter with three filing folds and a small hole to the head is otherwise in very good condition. Inscribed in pencil by V. G. Kiernan to the British historian and Africanist George "Sam" Albert Shepperson (1922-2020) to the front free endpaper: "G. A. Shepperson, / with the author's best wishes - / Edinburgh, / Sept. '78". Illustrated with nine black and white photographic plates. 96pp. A good copy, the binding firm with a little wear to the spine ends and a touch of bumping to the corners. The contents with a small nick to the top of the blank margin of both the frontispiece and title page are otherwise in very good order. An uncommon early work on the practice of cycling, with a notable focus on racing, by the British track cyclist and Olympic Games 1908 gold medallist Clarence Brickwood Kingsbury (1882-1949).Only three institutional copies recorded by LibraryHub (Science Museum, Nat.
