Book bound in blue/green cloth with gilt titles, clean and bright. End papers darkened, thereafter pages smooth clean and bright, no inscriptions or markings, appearing unused.

Book bound in dark blue cloth with gilt titles, light wear along eges and spine ends, one or two little blemishes, but remaining neat bright and square. Upper closed page edge dyed blue, other edges rough cut and browned. Hinge and text block firm, though webbing revealled along the upper edge. Small contemporaneous inked inscription to the front end paper. Pages smooth, clean, random brown spots here and there. Frontispiece portrait of the author, illustrated thoughout with photographic plates and a fold out map at the rear in excellent condition. A very nice well preserved book.

Faded along the spine, wear to edges, but remaining robust and square. Hinge and text block firm, no inscriptions, but an "Award of Merit" affixed inside the front. Pages a touch age-toned, but smooth and clean, without spotting. A good neat copy.

Neat school prize certificate pasted inside the front dated 1941-1942. Hinge and text block tight, pages smooth, clean, lightly handled and carefully preserved.
