First Edition. Viking New York 1958.
Western nominated for Pulitzer Prize and the basis for the 1959 film Warlock starring Henry Fonda, Richard Widmark and Anthony Quinn.
Book is solid. Binding tight. Leaves clean. No inscriptions. Book may be ex library with evidence discreetly removed.
Text block edges quite good with fore edge untrimmed and top edge dyed red.
DJ is complete with no loss. Some light spotting.It may have at one time been attached to boards with DJ and boards having traces of adhesive. Not greatly significant. Enclosed in a Brodart covering.
Overall, a solid First Edition.
Uncommon with DJ.

London 1714. J. Round, W. Taylor, J. Brown, W. Lewis. J. Graves.
First Edition in English.
Original French edition appeared in 1713. Translated by Mr. Abel Boyer, it is an account of the amorous intrigues of the Restoration court by French nobleman, Philibert, Count de Grammont as told to his brother in law Anthony Hamilton.
Because of the content, the book was on the "Vatican Index" until 1965.
1714 edition with much later (dark green coloured) boards and endpapers. Boards are half calf and in very good condition. Raised bands on spine. Morocco label. Gilt lettering. Head of spine a little rubbed. Binding very good.Text block well preserved. Some notations on title page (see images). Some light occasional foxing and some occasional staining on leaves.
Ultimately, a very good scarce First Edition.

London 1921. MacMillan. Full title is Wessex Poems and Other Verses and Poems of the Past and Present.
Lovely burgundy leather covers in Fine condition with decorative gilt on spine and title and author's name blocked in gilt on front cover. Top edge gilt. There is some spotting to pastedowns and endpapers. Hinge between title page and half title page is weakened but still very much attached.Leaves somewhat age toned but very clean and free of markings. The only marking is previous sale price in pencil on first blank. Else very good indeed
The DJ is very good with chipping at spine ends and and to a lesser extent at extremities. It is somewhat dulled due to age. Now in protective removeable sleeve. More photos can be provided.

First Edition. Rare. Very good.
The Candle Press, Dublin 1918.
Stated on title page as Volume 1 (As passed by Censor) but in actual fact there was no volume 2.
Written by Bulmer Hobson who was a leading member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood and swore Pearse into the IRB in 1913. The book is dedicated to Roger Casement and has a Preface by Eoin MacNeill.
Book is very good. Binding tight. Gilt lettering on spine. Green coloured cloth bound boards are sound but quite faded. Head of spine rubbed. Corners a little rubbed.
Internally clean. No markings, inscriptions or foxing. Pastedowns and endpapers are browned as is title page. Otherwise the leaves are remarkably clean with light age toning.
Were boards not faded, the volume would be classified as near Fine.
A rare First Edition.
