London: Williams and Norgate, 1934 This Kentish village not only had an interesting history in Saxon times, but is associated with two Archbishops of Canterbury and the Tradescants - father and son - and, especially in its church, has points of great archaeological interest. 312pp with black and white plates. Not only scarce but both book and dustjacket in exceptional condition.

London: Sylvan Press, 1944 A collection of short stories and rhymes. The title 'No Bombs at All' derives from the Ballad of Sulaiman an RAF Squadron Song. 123 pages, with wood engravings by Biro. Corners rubbed and slight wear to front hinge.

The first, Dr.William Harvey, is the only native to have achieved international fame, but how many Kentish towns can boast even one genius. Pennsylvania: The Franklin Library, 1979 viii, 468pp with some loss of gilt to upper and lower block edge. Slight dink to foredge otherwise very good throughout.

Spalding: The Spalding Free Press, 1940 A comprehensive compilation of historic information at a time of impending military action (early 1940) when the author felt there was no guarantee of the survival of original sources. It makes a thick volume, xvi+ 584pp Book size 220x150mm

London: Burns, Oates & Washbourne, 1925 The writer has endeavoured to lead hos readers down certain London streets, gossiping as he goes about old stories and long distant happenings as he found them recorded. He has not thought it necessary for such friendly chattering to verify and examine each statement with the care that a severe historical work would exact. These things are told of these streets. Many of them are certainly true; others perhaps - just gossip. 170pp with a folding map. Some light foxing fore and aft. Inscription and ex libris plate to front paste down.

The Earl of Inchcape and signed by him to the front end paper. De Luxe edition Number 96 of 350. xii, 240pp with collotype plates. Dustjacket torn and chipped now in a protective sleeve.

London: Longman, Brown, Green & Longmans, 1855 xii, 232pp. Recased in a modern cloth with a paper spine label. New end papers and headband. Ex library, with three stamps, otherwise a clean and very good copy throughout.

London: Cassell and Company Ltd Revised edition, undated but circa immediate post First World War. Volume one X-1-480. Volume two IV-481-1032. Both volumes extensively illustrated. Green half calf with buckram boards, marbled end papers. Spines are sunned, otherwise very good throughout. Heavy, shipping by quotation.

Liverpool: Edward Howell, 1877 From a journal kept om board the Royal Mersey steam yacht "Argo" The author was the guest of Reginald Cholmondley who in 1875 chartered a fine new steam ship built by Alfred Holt of Liverpool for a voyage to the West Indies in pursuance of his desire to add to his already well stocked aviary with specimens from the Antilles and Tropical America. 205pp with 19 black and white plates.

London: T.Fisher Unwin, 1916 J.H.Morgan was a Barrister at Law of the Inner Temple, Professor of constitutional law in the University of London and Home Office Commissioner with the British Expeditionary Force. vii, 128pp.
