Presentation copy from the author with eight line handwritten inscriptions by Sydney Goodsir Smith on front endpaper. This is the 1947 first edition with a limited run of just 300 copies. Frontispiece illustrated with print of an auk. 80 pages. Sydney Goodsir Smith was a poet, critic and journalist who is best remembered for his contribution to the 20th century revival of poetry in the Scots language. Discolouration around edges of cover and some wear to extremities. A scarce title from a truly eccentric writer.
