The book was personalized by Lou Eppinger, as he inscribed the inside cover to a "Bird Glasbie" and signed "by Lou." Also on the inside of the front cover of this book is a picture of Lou and I'm assuming the other person is Bird. This seems to be a gift from Lou to Bird and the picture shows Lou's tackle box and lures.
Bird was a Spanish War veteran who lived in Oxford, Michigan and was elected to the House of Representatives. He played and coached football at Michigan State normal school, which is now Eastern Michigan University. Bird also founded the Oxford Leader newspaper in Oxford, Michigan.
