The corners of the soiled covers are creased & chipped and the spine has perished and is thus lacking. [4] & 160 pages, including the half-title. The pages are soiled with occasional foxing and the page corners are creased. An early owner's name is penned at the top of the half-title. There is a tiny chip out from the bottom corner of the title page and also a tiny tear to the margins of page 41 with minor loss to the end of a few words. A good complete book. "Compiled under the inspection of the Secretary of the State of Connecticut" as quoted from the half-title.

Very good. - Quarto. 15 words typed on a splendid illustrated sheet of letterhead headed "The Dionne Quintuplet Guardianship" with a color image of the heads of the quintuplets superimposed on a maple leaf and an outline map of Ontario, marking the location of Callander with a red star. Signed "Allan Roy Dafoe". There is light creasing to the bottom corners of the letter with the left corner slightly darkened. Folded once for mailing. Very good. <p>Dr. Allan Roy Dafoe [1883-1943] sends this signed letter to a correspondent who has asked for his autograph. The Canadian obstetrician delivered and cared for the Dionnes, the first quintuplets known to have survived early infancy.
