Philadelphia: J.P. Lippincott & Co., 1893. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. R. M. Ballantyne. A tale founded on the CHronicales of the Kings of Norway and Norse sagas, Cover is rather faded abd a bit scratched but all else in fine condition. The cover features embossed "Norse" designs. There are interesting advertisements for other Lippincotte reference book and popular juveniles used as endcovers and on a back page.

This classic is presented in a tan slip-case and inside the front endpapers is a copy of the Heritage Club's Sandglass describing the book. The book would be "Fine" except for slight damage to the top of the spine. The edition is profusely illustrated with many illustrations in 2-color. An excellent way to enjoy my favorite of Stendhal's novels.

A warm and often humorous novel about an unexpected topic.

New York: P. J. Kenedy & Sons, 1953. hardcover cloth. Very Good. Trnslated by The Earl of Wicklow from the original publiched in 1950 in France. Chapters cover each of the wounds separately. There is a full discussion of the Shroud of Turin. Cover bright and clear with some very minor stains.

His early life and struggles; bold ventures and brillian successses,; wonderful casreer in which he made and lost fortunes, captivated kings, queens, nobility, and millions of people; his genius, wit, eloquence, public benefactor, life as a citizen, etc. etc. A remarkale story, abounding in fascinating incidents, thrilling episodes, and marvelou achievments. Written by himself. To which is added The Art of Money Getting, or Golden Rules for making money. Profusely illustrated. (To which in this edition is added a section by another hand on Barnum's death.) The main flaw is that onse dise of the spine has separated from the front cover. There is an inscription in light pencil on the blank page after the first endpaper that indicated the book was a present in February of 1891.

Complete and unabridged in one volume with an introduction by Raymond Weaver. This is #261 of the 403 Modern Library titles in print at the time of publication. Tears to otherwise intact dust jacket, book in Fine shape.

Dent starting publishing The Wayfarer's Library in 1914 and among the first titles was their 1907 Historic Thames by Hilaire Belloc. There are some small pieces of tape on the front endpapers which appear to have healed a tear and covered an inscription. Also, there is light foxing at the edge of some pages and the book is slightly cocked, but the text is clear and unmarked throughout.

The foundations of mathematics are found in deductive logic, set theory, topology, and history, including various paradoxes. This volume has hundreds of examples as well as exercises of varying degrees of difficulty, Although the book itself is in beautiful condition, the dust jacket has been badly treated, and much of the back dj is missing or scrunched.

Richard Bissel, perhaps best known for 7-1/2 centsthe basis of The Pajama Game, is a very funny humorist--even his biography on the back of the dust jacket is funny. This copy is almost like new, although the DR has a couple of very small tears. A must for Harvard graduates.

Like new (except for wear on dust jacket) First American Edition of The Natural History of Mammals, which includes 97 wonderful drawings (see samples on title pages) and 24 halftone illustrations. A wonderful book that was the first in any language to describe the activities of mammals--other similar books are largely about birds. The author a University of Paris professor at the time the book was written, has traveled worldwide while investigating the ecology of mammals.
