Red cloth with a lightly browned, clean and intact, paper spine label. xv +237 pages. Indexed. 7.5 x 5.25 inches. Cloth is intact and clean. Inside is clean, bright and tight.

Illustrated with double-page frontis and 3 full-page plates. Full cover illustration in black on front, pressed rules and decoration on back. Spine leans and is decorated with black bow and rifle, and pressed gilt label. 3/8"" + 1/2"" tear in lower rear joint, 1/8"" chip to spine bottom, lower cloth edge and corners rubbed thru, some soiling and staining to cloth. Hinges intact, no loose pages. Previous owner's name on front endpaper. A few finger smudges and one vertical pencil line in outside page margin.

Moved to Kansas, studied law, admitted to bar age 21. 1892 elected District Attorney in El Reno, Oklahoma. Became a train robber, horse and cattle thief, evangelist, murderer (was sentenced to life in prison and pardoned by Teddy Roosevelt), politician (ran for Governor of Oklahoma), author, and worked in silent and vocal western films.

Very Good condition, clean, bright and unmarked. 12 woodcuts. Contains plates of Bruges, Ypres, Furnes, Dixmude, Nieuport, Ghent, Termonde, Louvaine, Malines, and countryside illustrations.

Attractive book w. ribbon marker. Spine and corner tips lightly rubbed. Bottoms of first few pages with light dampstain in margin only, regressing from foredge 5/8"" max. One side of blank rear endpaper has larger stain. Otherwise clean, tight and bright. Lambourne was a notable Mormon writer and early Utah artist. He built and lived in a cabin on Gunnison Island in the Great Salt Lake for nine months. A lone inhabitant on the island from November 1895 until March when the first group of international guano sifters arrived. Describes plants, animal life, geology, interesting characters and more.
