Exterior shows a few drops and wipe marks which can really only be seen when you hold the book at an angle to the light. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Pages are clean and bright like book was never used. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no remainder marks, nothing torn or loose. The only evidence of handwriting found in the book is on the front end page where there is faint remnants a price that was once penciled in the corner and then later erased.

Exterior shows spotting and soiling as well as edge and corner wear. There are a few small holes in the cloth and the rear board has a circular stain in the center. The internal binding is good, except for some minor pulling in the section of offset pages that starts around page 203. The front pastedown contains an inscription stating this was from the Library of the Redemptorists Fathers, and the title page contains a stamp stating "Redemptorist Library, St. Alphonsus Church of New Orleans. There is also a very faint stamp near the lower outside corner of the same page. Various degrees of foxing is present throughout with some pages being very minor and others showing quite a bit. Exterior boards show edge and corner wear as well as darkening. There is a light stain on the front board near the upper right corner. Pages are brown due to age and quality of paper and foxing is noted, including several areas where there's large spots from where the paper reacted with other paper it had come in contact with. Last end page has a small chip missing out of the upper corner.
