Council Oak Books, Tulsa, 1992. As new 4to with DJ. A ver nice volume with numerous maps created by David Greenspan in 1951 for American Heritage. Some of the maps are adapted from the 1959 2-volume West Point Atlas of American Wars. Along with these are aerial photographs from th e US High Altitude Photography Program, with very interesting perspectives not available to most previous Civil War historians. Most of the maps are full page and in color. Chapters are arranged predicated on individual battles and dates. There a nu mber of b&w photos of the various generals involved, with brief bibliographical statements. 176pp including index and illustration credits. This is a very nice volume. (4 copies available, each individually priced as above.).

These maps are from Volume III of the Comte de Paris' multivolume work. Porter & Coates, Philadelphia, 1886. Near fine striking chromolithograph. There is a small city-plan of Gettysburg, and the areas of Round Top, Little Round Top, and Seminary Ridge. There is extensive topographical detail, and locations and names of individual landowners. This map was published in the Comte de Paris' "The Battle of Gettysburg: From the History of the Civil War in America". The book containing the map offered here was published as a separate volume, after the multivolume series, and included expanded military deta ils with documentation included.
