L. M. Stein Publisher, Chicago, Illinois, 1941. 2nd Enlarged Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Photographic. Signed by Author. 1.1 kg; 404 pages, illustrated with monotone photography text in Yiddish, and English. The original place marker ribbon is somewhat frayed. Rubber stamp in Hebrew and English on the traditional rear paste down, and inscription in ink dated June 1951 signed by the author. There is some rubbing to the base of the spine section with a fraying of the cloth, the untrimmed front edge is somewhat rough, because of the way some of the pages were cut. Not Credited, Israel, 1988. First Edition. Red Vinyl. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. 400 g; 160 pages in original dark red vinyl style binding, with photographic frontispiece.. "Jacob G Rosenberg born 1922 in Lodz, Poland and grew up as the youngest member of a working-class family. After the Germans occupied Poland, he was confined with his parents, two sisters, and their little girls in the Lodz Ghetto until they were sent to Auschwitz. All the members of his family (except himself and his sister who committed suicide a few days later) were gassed on the day of their arrival. He remained in Auschwitz for about two months and spend the rest of the war in various other concentration camps. In May 1945 he was liberated and moved to a Displaced Persons camp in Italy where he met and married Esther Laufer who was a survivor of eight camps. He and his wife emigrated to Australia in 1948.
