Made into a film in 1973 starring Edward Fox as the Jackal. Remade in 1997 starring Bruce Willis. The original storyline was about The Jackal , contracted by the OAS French Terroist group of the early 1960's to kill Charles de Gaulle, the President of France. It became an instant best seller in 1973 after de Gaulle died.

Harcourt & Brace 1943, First. VG/none. Rust orange boards with black titles to spine and illustration of young man on bike with dog chasing (delivering telegrams) . Also an illustration of a young boy on the spine. PO's signature on first fly leaf. Otherwise, a clean tight copy - no other marks. No DJ. The Human Comedya loving novel about a family during WWII. It was made into a movie starring Mickey Rooney , Fay Bainter and Frank Morgan. The book won a Pulitzer Prize, and the movie won an Academy Award for Best Picture. Rooney received an Oscar Nomination for Best Actor.

No other marks, tight clean copy. Looks to be never opened and read. DJ is gold with black and white titles to front and spine. Le Carre drew from his experiece of the revealing of the Cambridge 5 Traitors in the 1950 and 1960's. It was made into a film in 2011 and received 3 Academy Award Nominations.
