Book shows some small whitish blemishes on front cover (see scan), and no other notable flaws; jacket shows no actual damage, just some inevitable spine-end crinkle and, when viewed at an angle iin the lights, some modest traces of rubbing. Very sharp. Roberts brings up several somewhat controversial points in this 2009 bio of A-Rod, but that's what one does if one wants to sell books - she also has never retracted errant remarks about the Duke lacrosse case. Certainly one of the best available copies of the first American edition of George Bernard Shaw's first novel, in its earliest state. "Cashel Byron's Profession" is Shaw's droll tale of a professional prizefighter and his adventures in life. Included at the end is Admirable Bashville (or, Constancy Unrewarded), the three-act play version of the novel, and a nice Shaw essay on boxing, "Modern Prizefighting". L32
