Also includes ""Leaves from a Note-Book"" and ""Impressions of Theophrastus Such."" Very worn, especially the backstrip, which shows considerable fraying and is peeling away. Webbing showing on front hinge. Bookworm tunnels in several places along outside margins, but text unaffected. Rear hinge very weak, nearly broken. Binding cracked at center and other places. Poor-Fair.

He has inscribed the book to his first cousin, Charles Roden Buxton. Buxton was the son of Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton and Lady Victoria Buxton, sister of the author. Charles Roden Buxton, 1875-1942, was a British philanthropist and radical Liberal (later Labour) Party politician.
