Burgundy cloth in printed dust jacket. 209 pp. A printing of four lectures given in Germany by Swami Jnanananda, reflecting on spirituality and discussing philosophical religion, science and religion, and transcendence. Swami Jnanananda was an Indian yogi and spiritual scholar, as well as nuclear physicist, becoming interested in Einstein's Theory of Relativity while lecturing in Germany in the late 1920s. GOOD condition. Moderate browning, some soiling and staining to the covers. Moderate to heavy chipping and tearing along the jacket extremities. Minor soiling, fading and edgewear to the book. Offsetting to the endpapers.

A work explaining Swedenborg's ideas on the biblical concept of New Jerusalem, and how those ideas could form the basis of new spiritual teachings, many of which would serve as the basic tenets of the New Church. Emanuel Swedenborg was a theologian and mystic, with some of his ideas touching on the occult. GOOD condition. Heavy darkening to the spine, with moderate scuffing along the extremities. Minor soiling. Moderate toning to the interior.

Dark brown cloth decorated in blind. 247 pp. A collection of writings by theologian and mystic, Emanuel Swedenborg, focusing on doctrines as taught by the New Church. GOOD condition. Extensive chipping and splitting to the cloth along the hinges, with some loss of the backstrip. Minor fading and scuffing. Light soiling. Some scuffing along the extremities. Moderate foxing to the endpapers, with scattered foxing and soiling throughout. Text block toned.

Oneida Reserve: Free Church Association, 1851. Original Wraps. Good. Pagination runs 81-96. Lacking covers, if any were issued. Features a lengthy essay by John Humphrey Noyes under the column, "Home Talk." Noyes founded the utopian community at Oneida, New York, espousing socialist ideals and communal living, including free love and multiple marriages, while also believing that one could live within Christian philosophies. In GOOD condition. Several large creases present, as well as many small wrinkles and creases along the extremities. Top page corners curled over. Very minor soiling and toning to the paper. One page printed slightly askew.

A bound volume of a journal devoted to the Mazdaznan movement, a religious or spiritual movement founded in the 19th century by Otoman Zar-Adusht Ha'nish, drawing on Neo-Zoroastrian principles. It focused on the importance of breath and breathing, with its adherents expected to practice vegetarianism. GOOD+ condition. Minor fading and scuffing. Minor edgewear. Front wrapper of the January issue detached and laid in, with staining to the lower portion. A few stray pencil notations to the contents pages of some issues.

Light brown printed wraps. 77 pp. A collection of letters and cablegrams from Shoghi Effendi to the National Spiritual Assembly of the American Baha'i, spanning the years 1932 to 1940. Most of these reflect on spiritual and philosophical matters relating to the Baha'i and the various conventions and gatherings. Shoghi Effendi was the spiritual leader of the Baha'i Faith from 1921 to 1957 and helped to grow the faith worldwide, as well as being responsible for the promotion of its teachings through writings and speeches. VERY GOOD condition. Minor fading to the covers, with a few creases at the corners. Interior clean and solid.

Xix; an appendix to the treatise on the white horse; on the earths in the universe; the last judgement; a continuation concerning last judgment. By Inayat Khan, an Indian professor of musicology who was a pioneer in spreading Sufism to Western culture through the establishment of schools in the UK beginning in 1914. His teachings focused on harmony in the world. GOOD condition. General fading. Minor soiling. A few small stains to the covers. Light foxing to the endpapers.

Also present is an address by Antoinette Doolittle, a First Eldress in the Shaker community and devoted to causes of social reform, pacifism and women's rights. Issued by the Mt. Lebanon Shaker Commune. GOOD+ condition. Pages unopened along the top edge, with some tearing along the side folds. Minor soiling and toning.

A short piece issued by the Israelite House of David religious/communal group pondering the soul, its existence and where it is. The Israelite House of David was a religious communal group formed by Benjamin and Mary Purnell, after allegations of sexual misconduct against Benjamin (and his death), Mary Purnell reorganized the group, serving as its leader until her death. The group was perhaps most known for its barnstorming baseball teams that toured the country in the early 1900s. VERY GOOD condition. Minor fading and toning.
