(Libri Walliae 1482. ESTC T144685). Begins with a sketch of the life and writings of Dafydd ab Gwilym, by Owen Jones in English with the remainder in Welsh. Dafydd is remarkable in his age for the large number of poems which he wrote about nature and about love. In this respect he far exceeded all his contemporaries, not only in amount but also in inspiration. See NLW.

Spine has title in gilt, edges bumped slightly, a little faded. Internally, small gutter tear to fep, half title present, [9], (xii-xv), [3], 19-64 pp, 35 poems. No edition stated but probably 2nd. Not often seen!

Morris is best remembered for his Cantref Meirionydd, published at Dolgelley in 1890 a few weeks after the death, on 1 March that year, of the author. In its time it was a most useful work, scholarly and painstaking according to the standard then prevailing; it continues to prove a work to which reference can be made

Internally, [5], (viii) only, [1], 14-148 pp, bound without the half title, new endpapers, ink ownership signature on title & end page (Richard Hughes), foxing to first and last two pages, last 2 leaves repaired to edges. Edwards was a native of Llanberis, Caerns., where he worked as a quarryman. Gaining considerable repute as a poet, he published a volume of verse, Eos Padarn, in 1829. He was buried at Llanberis 3 Oct. 1857. He had a son, Griffith Edwards (Gutyn Padarn).
