Very slight signs of use/wear, though overall a tight, very clean, and intact two volume set. Housed in original slipcase that remains solid but shows some wear.

Paper paste over top and bottom boards, is chipped, worn, and torn. Still, most of the text on the covers remains legible. Contents are loosened and are partially or completely detached. There is a stain affecting the bound edges/folds of all contents, though text there also remains clear and legible. Due to size, additional charges will apply for International shipping.. All edges of text block are gilded. Silk moire end leaves and book mark. There are a couple of very slight scuffs seen on the gilded edges of the text block. Color frontispiece and four additional b/w plates, all tissue guarded. Leather covers are a little rubbed, and show light wear at crown. There is a fairly small chip seen at the foot. End leaves are a little darkened and lightly soiled. The last signature shows about an inch of separation, though remains solid and even with other contents.. The Immortals Edition. Full Leather. Cloth covers show a little wear at corners and general rubbing along edges. Pictorial paste over on top cover remains bright and clean, though shows a little rubbing on lower quarter. Rear hinge is broke, though text block remains tight and well attached to covers. Inked name on blank front paste down. Scattered fairly light smudges with a few on the edges of plates (but not affecting images). Volume otherwise remains clean and intact, and despite the faults is a very attractive copy.

New York: A. L. Burt Company No date, though circa early twentieth century. Complete in two volumes as published. Half leather over spine and corners, and marbled paper over boards. Raised spine bands. Gilt stamped lettering. Covers are scuffed and rubbed, mostly along edges and on leather spine cover. Leather is a little chipped and worn at corners and spine ends, and there is a one inch tear in the leather along the joint at the top cover. Both volumes remains tight, and contents are clean and intact. . Half Leather. Good/No Dust Jacket.

N/P: N/P No date of publication, though circa 1930s. Printed by Remington Printing Company of Providence, RI. 255 pages, plus five folding maps in pocket at rear. Lettering on spine is slightly faded. There is a little light wear at spine ends and corners. A small rectangular piece of green tape is seen on the blank front free end leaf with offsetting on the front paste down. Very light foxing on edges, as well as the first few leaves. Volume remains tight and is otherwise clean. All five maps are in Very Good condition. . First Edition. Cloth - Hard Cover. Good/No Dust Jacket.

A well-thumbed, but solid copy of this reprint published the same year as the first edition. Orange cloth covers with a little wear at crown and corners. There are a couple of small white stains seen on the spine cover, and a small tear in the cloth along the bottom joint. Volume shows just a little spine lean. Some remnants of book plate previously removed from front paste down. A few smudges and small stains, but overall a fairly clean copy.

Moisture stain at foot of spine, wrapping around and affecting just a little of the spine cover of top and bottom boards. Light rubbing on edges. Volume is otherwise tight and clean. Dust jacket shows scattered small tears, with one partially affecting the L in publishers name over foot of spine. All other lettering remains good. Jacket is also a little faded over spine. Dust jacket remains clean and is now protected in a clear mylar sleeve.

End leaves with a few chips, and occasional light foxing and smudges. Volume remains tight and contents are generally clean.
