HATFIELD BOOKS AND MEMORABILIA, a FIVE STAR SELLER, presents JOURNEY ACROSS RUSSIA. VERY COLLECTIBLE. A RARE FIND in this condition. Never reprinted since 1980. The dreaded Soviet Union, frozen in time, with 367 pages (including index) and roughly 350 photos in brilliant color. 7" x 10 1/8" (may require extra postage), original dust jacket included, folded full-size map of the Soviet Union as it was in the mid 70's in PRISTINE, AS NEW CONDITION laid in. Author Bart McDowell was an award winning author and editor at National Geographic for 32 years, during which, among other things, he traveled the world with Charles Lindbergh and Laurence and Mary Rockefeller, and sailed the Indian Ocean with the U.S. Navy. Overall book is FINE: light tanning to edges of pages, light stain to top of front cover, inscription to owner on first ffep, else As New. Burgundy leatherette cover with bright gold gilt St. Nicholas image front, bright gold gilt particulars spine. DUST JACKET (black and creme with color photos and white and black particulars) = Fair Plus: large piece of top front missing, other chipping and small tears, else whole, clear text and color photos.
