A very nice copy. Note: This is a very old humorous poem, originally published in 1885 with four new verses by John Ruskin, and with illustrations by Kate Greenaway. This edition includes only 16 verses (including the 4 by Ruskin) and reproduces the Greenaway illustrations on the endpapers.

The poems commemorate the places --- Skagway, Norman Wells, etc. -- and people -- Art the Mailman, U.S. Corps of Engineers, etc. -- involved in building the Alaska highway. There is no publication date given in the book, but 1944 is the date tentatively given by the National Library of Canada

The gilding on the top of the text block is bright. The green cloth covers show bumps to the top and bottom of the spine, and gentle wear, but no significant problems. A very nice copy of this somewhat unusual book of "verse plays" by one of the Confederation poet.
