The 8 full-colour illustrations are present, and are supplemented by multiple black-and-white illustrations throughout. Two pages -- one at the front and one at the back of the book have darkened, but the rest of the pages are fresh. The green covers show little general wear, but shows fading to the top of the spine and edges. The dust jacket is only in Good condtion, with heavy edgewear and nicks of paper missing from the top and bottom of the spine. The attached scan gives a better idea of condition. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover.

London: Collins. Hardcover. Very Good. This is a spiral-bound "playbook". Each page is divided into 3 panels, one side containing a scene from a nursery rhyme, the back containing text from another. Children flip the pages to match all three pictures from the rhyme. When they've got it right, the text will appear on the facing page. The book is in very good condition, clean and fresh on the inside, and with only a touch of wear to the covers. Ask for a scan to get a better idea of condition.

New York & London: Charkes Scribner's Sons, 1938. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. This is a first printing of the first edition, with a Scribner's "A" on the verso of the title page. The interior of the book is tight and complete, but with several condition problems, including occasional brown stains on the bottom of the text and more serious discolourations on the front and rear paste-downs where the glue has soaked though the paper and left brown stains. There is also a former owner's book plate and a short gift inscriiption on the front free end paper. Please see the attached scans. The illustrated cloth covers are in better conditoin, with light wear and handling.

The binding is still tight, but paper has just started to pull near the staples. The colourful pictorial covers show a bit of light wear and rubbing to edges, but are in VG condition. A very attractive copy.

The dust jacket is unclipped, and is in Very Good condition, with one short closed tear at the bottom of the spine. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover, and the tear is not visible from the front. Synopsis: This is an illustrated collection of nursery rhymes, finger games and counting rhymes, etc., chosen by Zena Sutherland, a expert in childrne's literature. Each page contains multiple colour illustrations by Faith Jaques. The book includes short background "Notes" by both author and illusrator.

The pictorial laminated paper covers are also in very good condition, showing light wear at the corners, and one shallow fold on the front cover. Synopsis: This is a short (14 page) picture book, described as "an assembly cookery book for the very young, including illustrated nursery rhymes, and recipes with ingredients that are simply assembled and need little supervision". For example, in this book, Mary (and her little lamb) are tired after a long walk, and have Mary's Rose Petal Milk. Simple Simon buys some Sugar biscuits. The recipe involves spreading 6 shortbread biscuits with lemon curd, then dipping into coffee crystals.
