He lived from 1864-1931 and served as High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire. A note from the British Field Sports Society laid-in with a brief biography of the author. The book was bound by Riviere and Sons (signed binding). Collated complete with six plates, two of which are fold-out plans, sepia-tone frontispiece. There are also five engraved chapter heads. 230pp. with 16pp. of advertisements at the conclusion. Errata slip is tipped-in. Thomas Smith (1790-1878) was Master of Hounds at Craven and Hambleton.
