Jerónimo Lobo,1595-1678, was a Portuguese Jesuit missionary. He took part in the unsuccessful efforts to convert Ethiopia from the native Ethiopian church to Roman Catholicism until the expulsion of the Jesuits in 1643. Afterwards he wrote an account of his time in Ethiopia, Itinerário, which is an important source for the history and culture of that country.

Brill, 1967, 264p, bibliographical footnotes. Fine copy in fine dust jacket. There are a few chips to the back cover of the dust jacket. Very nice copy of a very scarce book. This is NOT an ex-library copy. On OCLC one will find the pages number as 272 pages while others, the majority, call for 264 pages. There is no reference to a bibliography or index in either description. The introductory pages, the table of contents, runs to about 4 pages, with the text following, beginning at page 1. I assume that the original bibliographer wrote 272 pages, which was copied by succeeding library cataloguers except those that did original cataloguing. It is my judgement that the correct pagination is 264 pages. $75.00
