Original tan publisher's cloth with pictorial decoration on the front board in gilt, brown, and black, and gilt title on spine. A group of short stories from Twain. Tightly bound, solid, and square. Cloth has very little soiling. Clean interior including end papers. Little to no wear to edges. Slight wear to tips. Spine slightly darkened and rubbed at foot and crown with a little loss to surface layer of the cloth.

Octavo, bound in publisher's original cloth. Tight, square, and solidly bound. Spine has been professionally re-backed and old spine label laid over. End papers replaced as well, not the original. Some light spotting to boards and edge wear to bottom boards. Text block edges have tanned. Internally clean with some tanning to end papers. It was the best-selling of Twain's works during his lifetime, as well as being one of the best-selling travel books of all time.

From the library of Eugene Field. 631 pp. plus a 1-page publisher's advertisement at the rear. Rebound in full morocco and decorative endpapers with raised bands. Gilt top edge. Light rubbing to book's extremities. Custom/matching slipcase rubbed on the corners. Original brown cloth bound into the back of the book The book appears to be signed by Mark Twain on the title page and Eugene Field on a rear flyleaf. The signatures, though quite convincing, are likely forgeries made by the famed forger Eugene "Pinny" Field II (1879-1946) and Harry Dayton Sickles, working in tandem.
