Two small closed tears on rear of DJ. DJ is bright and vibrant. Marroon cloth sun faded at top of spine where uncovered by DJ and at bottom of spine, apparently resulting from book storage with DJ slide slightly upwards on the spine. Blue topstain has faded some. Tasteful owner bookplate on front board. DJ not price clipped. The DJ is in mylar. Covici Friede printed above black out on spine. Steinbeck titles and $2.50 price on back of jacket. McBride colophon to last page of text. NO mention of Steinbeck as author of "Of Mice and Men" to front jacket panel. 8vo 8" - 9" tall.

Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. An 11th printing in an 11th printing jacket. Chips to crown of spine and very small chip to front of DJ. Chip and tear to rear tip of DJ at the top corner. All flaps are clipped, but the original price of $2.75 is on the jacket but half of the "5" in the $2.75 price has been clipped. Ownership inscription on FFEP. A very nice copy in a like jacket.

Endpapers have tanning at front and rear. Spine slant. Stain to upper right hand corner of FFEP. Small remnant of a sticker on front endpaper. Corner of front endpaper is missing, corresponding in size and position to stain on FFEP. Clean interior. DJ is price clipped. Wear to head and foot of spine and front tips. Rear panel of DJ has tanned.

First trade edition with no equivalent American edition. Translated by Jean-Francois Rozan. Octavo. 154pp. Yellow pictorial wrappers. The first printing shows a "14 Mai 1956" on the colophon page. Very Good first edition/first printing in yellow wrappers with large front and back innerfolds. Spine slightly cocked. Yellow wrapper has short tear and small chip at foot of spine.
