The content of the Chase Rare Books website provides general information and is subject to change without notice. All items shown on our website may be listed elsewhere and are offered subject to prior sale. While the website is kept up to date, occasionally there will be instances where an item has already been sold. In such cases, no contractual liability shall arise, but if any payment has already been taken it will be refunded. We endeavour to describe the condition of each book accurately in the published descriptions. We guarantee that the authenticity and completeness of each book is as described. Pricing All prices displayed on our website are nett and do not include the cost of postage and packing. All transactions are conducted in British Pound Sterling. Prices may be subject to change without notice. We will always inform you of any price increases before orders are processed and despatched and you will have the option to cancel orders at this point. Payment can be made using credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro) through our website. We also accept bank transfers in Pounds Sterling - please contact us for details on how to pay by this method. All purchases must be paid for in full before shipping. All items remain the property of the seller until payment has been made in full. VAT Value Added Tax (sales tax) on books in the UK is currently 0%. Other goods are standard rated for VAT (currently 20%) and prices shown on the website are inclusive of VAT. Overseas customers are responsible for paying any import or other duties due in their country of residence or the country of delivery. Postage Chase Rare Books ships using Royal Mail's Tracked and Signed-For services which includes a standard level of insurance. The prices shown on our website do not include postage and packing. Postage charges are calculated based on weight, value, destination of the parcel and the service chosen. All items are expertly packed and insured at the standard Royal Mail Tracked rate limits before being shipped. We reserve the right to vary postage charges from those calculated, but you will always be informed if this is necessary before your order in invoiced and dispatched. We will provide you with a tracking number once your order has been invoiced and despatched. Parcels sent on a standard service within the UK are usually delivered within 2-7 working days; to Europe within 5-14 working days; and to the rest of the World within 7-28 working days. If you have not received your books within this period from the date of despatch, please contact us so that we may make enquiries. Customs charges Goods being sent to countries outside the UK may be subject to customs clearance charges and import duties. Any such charges are the responsibility of the customer. Cancellations and Returns You may contact us at any time before goods have been despatched to cancel your order. Any payment already made will be credited to your account within 30 days. Please contact us to arrange a return with details of what you would like to return and why. Written confirmation of your intention to return an item must be provided within 30 days of receipt. We reserve the right to request images of the item before it is sent back to us. Books should be returned by a tracked and signed-for shipping service and the tracking number advised to us. The price of the book will be refunded to your account in full upon our receipt of the item, provided that it is in the same condition as you received it. Return postage will only be refunded if the book has been returned because it was wrongly described or damaged in transit. For any other reason the refund will not include any bank transfer charges we incur in remitting the funds to your bank account. Force majeure Chase Rare Books shall have no liability to you for any failure to deliver goods you have ordered or any delay in doing so that is caused by any event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control. Governing Law The contract between us shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law, and the English courts shall have jurisdiction to resolve any disputes between us. Privacy Policy We take your privacy seriously and are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. The only personal data we hold is that required to transact business. It can include your postal and billing addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, order details and emails received. Our website uses a secure payment gateway, we are PCI compliant, and we do not store any credit/debit card information. We will use your personal information to notify you about your order. If your order is being shipped, your address and contact information may be passed on to a third-party for shipping and shipping notification purposes only.
