The lot from a single source partly by subscription, partly scrounging, all in very good condition: exterior damage confined to staple-holes next covers' fore-edge margin, tiny smudges, mild damp-ripple to back cover of a singleton, and a few trivial adhesion scars. Within, we flipped through and saw no soil or ownership marks (let alone institutional marks). As stated, a very good run of 63 unduplicated issues.

Original Wraps. 56p., tentative text with only one page showing corrections (in pencil, grammatical errors only), coverless signatures sewn with tough thread in good shape, the usual govt or quasi-govt publication in 9x6 inch self-wraps. Front cover (i.e., first page) bears an old ownership in pen & ink, dust-soil, handling crimps and a touch of foxing. Back cover has a spatter of ink (eighth-inch blobs) and more dust & foxing. As is, perfectly legible. Author Wilson explains that in the US .."Until about 1882.. there was no single irrigation work designed on sound engineering principles" but all were "hastily constructed" under pressure for money, especially in Colorado and California. -- From first page: "This advance copy is subject to revision. Melbourne: Georgian House, 1944. Hardcover. 126p., illustrated profusely with full- and half-page reproductions from photography on semi-glazed stock amidst a running text (presswork on semi-glazed alkaline stuff). Hardbound in 9x7 inch plain printed papered boards with a cloth backstrip titled black, a nice design in worn condition: boards are toned and dusty, corner-tips show card, front cover is bent with an irregular crease-line, flecks of soil here and there, find a Melbourne bookseller's fiche to pastedown. A fair to good copy, no damage to text or photos.

[Los Angeles]: Save Our Water, 2013. Pamphlet. [6]p. including covers, stapled wraps, 4.25x5.5 inches, very good zine format comic book by the Asian American artist.

San Francisco: California Tomorrow, 1982. Magazine. 80p., 7x10 inches; photos and illustrations, wraps slightly soiled, else in very good magazine in stapled pictorial wraps.

Hong Kong: An Odyssey Book / the Guidebook Company Ltd, 1997. 240p., profuse captioned photos and period images throughout the text, high-density coated paper in trade-size glossy frenchfold wraps, a very good copy. An engaging commercial production.

Washington DC: GPO, 1909. Pamphlet. 11p., illustrated with modern diagrammatic depictions and one interesting old woodcut. Softbound, a stapled pamphlet in 9x6 inch plain printed tomato-bisque wraps, an oddly attractive item in nearly-new condition. Tincture of opium, to be used in combination with lime-water and linseed oil, must have been easier to obtain in 1909.

Bombay: Himalaya Publishing House, 1982. Paperback. viii, 379p., illustrated with a few tables; reissue of the 1980 first. Softbound in 8.5x5.5 inch laminated wraps, the laminate a bit wrinkled, textblock edges dust-soiled with a couple small splash stains, an otherwise clean entirely sound copy.

Cambridge: White Horse Press, 2010. xii, 180 pages with illustrations and maps, very good hardcover. Focuses on the Liri Valley in Italy.

Paperback. 288p., 8.5x11 inches, photos, maps, plans, tables, figures, many folding, reports, mild wear and foxing otherwise good paperback in green report covers; find three "Irrigation Districts of California" papers laid-in (nice pictorial letterheads).

Washington DC: GPO / U.S. Department of the Interior, 1926. Pamphlet. ii, 50p., illustrated in b&w photography fuzzily reproduced, generally a photo on every page starting from p.10. Softbound, 9x6 inch pamphlet staple-fastened. A GPO item with both covers printed in colors, rather unusual, perhaps a boost for this little-known Exposition. Item has suffered damp-damage, to covers, not to text pages, staining not particularly severe however obvious. The staples, exposed where these protrude at the centerfold map, are slightly rusted with negligible migration. In sum, a fair to "good-only" copy. Captions demonstrate that the sole concern here is for western states, Montana to California, southwestern from New Mexico.

San Francisco: National Trust for Historic Preservation, 1997. Spiral_bound. iv, 82p., illustrated with b&w period photographs, presswork on nice alkaline paperstock copyshop-bound with a green plastic "comb" spine, a very good copy: completely sound, clean and unmarked.

San Diego: Greenleaf Classics, 1981. Paperback. 150p., VG inked on cover else a very good first printing PBO in camp pictorial wraps. Gay pulp fiction. Adonis Classics AC258. LaCava who was a Hoosier lawyer for 26 years.

Transactions of the Commonwealth Club of California. Report on the relationship of land settlement and agricultural prosperity in CA.

Wellington: W.A.G. Skinner, Government Printer, 1910. map. Folio leaves of glazed alkaline paper (still bright-white, 9.5x24 inches) printed, folded and stapled to make eight triple-column pages of text that when folded is 9.5x4 inches. Find numerous b&w photos reasonably well-reproduced amidst pretty printers' ornaments, while the outer layer is a triptych in colors, a panel each to the mountains, lakes and coastal inlets. Also find two 9x6.5 inch maps, one a detailed rendering of the South Island, the other a drawn topographical map with onlay color showing the hiking trails. External fold-edges are mildly abraded, no other problems (even the staples are clean), a very good copy.

Profuse color plates (very clear photos), find a fullpage line map inside back cover, softback in stapled 9.5x7 photodecorated wraps. A little crimped with handling, unmarked and clean, a very good copy.
