Chicago: Thompson & Thomas, 1904. Paperback. 210p., nine full-page woodblock illustrations (ten, counting cover), softbound first edition in 7.5x5 inch decorated wraps printed black and red on smooth yellow stock. Front cover is nearly detached with an ineffective bit of old tape at the heel, very acidic textblock with a bad bump and crumpling to tips of many leaves. Washington, D. C.: GPO, 1969. Paperback. xxviii, 580p., coated decorated wraps. There's a touch of rubbing to cover, but essentially a very good, unhandled copy. Vol 8 of A report to the National commission on the causes and prevention of violence. Girard KS: Haldeman-Julius Publications, 1938. 32p., staplebound 8.5x5.5 inch orange wraps, mildly edgeworn with a tiny chip at the tail of the spinefold, there are small stains above the title on the cover (faint damp spots and a more visible oil stain about an inch across), paperstock has browned but remains handleable. The cover also bears an alpha letter and code number in ink, perhaps the H-J series number usually printed in the same corner, thus done at the H-J bindery to supply a printer's omission. B 299 [? stock number? handwritten]. The longest essay, on Lincoln, is heavily influence by Eisenschiml's work.
