New Orleans: Wavelength Publications, 1985. Pamphlet. 12 pg. staple-bound pamphlet, 8.5" x 5.5". Staples rusted, with cover stained and heavily worn, a reading copy only. Among the notable contributors to The Cricket are Komunykaa, Conoley, and Christian. Komunykaa later went on to receive the Pulitzer Prize, Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize, and the Wallace Stevens Award. Conoley is a professor and the Poet-in-Residence at Sonoma State University, and Christian worked for the Federal Writers Project, and is regarded as the unofficial poet laureate of African American writers in New Orleans, and Louisiana.
