Eugene: Associated Students University of Oregon, 1940. Hardcover. 400p., massive 10.5x13.25 inch hardbound, illustrated with b&w photos, color plates, artworks by K. Chin and others, mild dampstain to the bottom edge of the last 50 pages into the margins, otherwise very good in original pictorial cloth with color photo affixed to the front cover. K. Chin, of Chinese ancestry, was born in Portland, Oregon in 1920, where he received his initial art training at the Portland Museum School of Art and the University of Oregon. During World War II Chin served as a mechanical draftsman with the US Air Corps, at which time he sharpened his skill at rendering detailed images. He served for 4-1/2 years. He illustrated magazine covers for US Army, American Legion, and later, Cue Magazine and Newsweek. [John Stokes of Custom Puzzle Craft!].

Sound, clean and unmarked. The first such annual to be held west of the Rocky Mountains.

Harrodsburg KY: Printed by Democrat Printing Co. for Woodward & Shanklin, 1894. Paperback. 117p., newsprint textblock, paperbound in densely printed 6.5x5 inch russet wraps, textblock is extremely acidic and fragile with a crease and a short split to last leaf, back cover wrap similarly split and creased with a minuscule chip, front cover detached, slightly edgeworn. A good copy, still handleable and rather attractive with its announcements arranged around a central image of a gentleman in bowler hat, printed black on terra-cotta. One illustration only, the bloke on the cover, presumably owner Woodard or Shanklin. Sample ad, for "Josie M., No. 195. Bay mare: 15 hands high; foaled 1889; owned by L.H. Smyth. Note.--this mare has unusual style, finish, speed and but for being blind in one eye would be exceptionally desirable to mate. The eye was knocked out when a two-year-old, but does not affect the other.

New York: Fair Play for Cuba Committee, 1960. Pamphlet. 30p., printed closely in a couple different fonts on 11x8.5 inch slightly toned paperstock, stapled over glazed white stock decorated with a border in red and blue inspired by the Cuban flag. No back cover was sprung for, a pamphlet done on the cheap. Staples are exposed on the terminal leaf and it may be seen that they are slightly rusted without significant migration. A good (good-only) copy. Bulletin no. 5. The FPCC also issued this speech, under a variant title, with same size and pagination.

Northfield MA: National Headquarters, American Youth Hostels Inc, 1938. Pamphlet. 65p., sketch illustrations with an especially large group of b&w photos of AYH activity by Fritz Goro. Small journal in pamphlet format, 7x5 inches, an excellent two-color woodcut decorates the cover; bound in, printed on acidic tinted stock, is a long (10-inch) informational strip passed thru the spinefold so protruding 5 inches on either side. This strip of unstable construction paper has offset onto adjoining leaves, and is currently split in half, along the spinefold, and now detached. A good copy: generally sound, and entirely free of soil or any markings.
