Stiff card, slightly larger than 4x6.25 inches, with Powderly's portrait (a sepia photograph from the negative) on one side and text about Ideal Tooth Powder and Ideal Quinine and Sulphur Toilet Soap on the other. Plate measures 3.5x5 inches; his moustache about 1.3 inches from left to right twirl. Very good. One of a series of photo cards that were sold, or distributed for free with the purchase of Ideal products.

Katherine Harris Bradley (1846-1914) and her niece and ward Edith Emma Cooper (1862-1913) assumed the pen name Michael Field after writing under another set of names, Arran and Isla Leigh. They lived openly as lovers. Bradley was associated with John Ruskin's utopian project, Guild of St. George during her years at Cambridge. The couple died of cancer within eight months of each other. First publication under this pen name.
