"Sparklingly witty stories from the Gulf of Mexico" reads the front cover; most of the stories are set along the U.S. Gulf coast. Mass-market paperback (first UK edition), minimal shelf wear, old price written on ffep, pages unmarked.

No Binding. Very Good. Nine loose sheets. Eight ironically captioned drawings by the versatile poet/artist/writer Eugene Walter, printed on 8-1/2" x 11" white card stock, covered with a larger, folded sheet of red paper. There are two copies of the cartoon "The Commitee meets to discuss the future of the Committee." No date or publisher is indicated, only the artist's handwritten copyright statement. The top-most sheet is very lightly soiled and rumpled at the upper right corner. The red portfolio cover is a bit sunned and worn. A piece of cardboard is inserted to protect the sheets from creasing. From the library of Walter's friend Ann Evans Berthoff.

Fourteen short stories by the multi-talented Eugene Walter of Mobile, Alabama, collected and published shortly after his return from 30 years living in Europe. 8vo, plum cloth with gilt lettering on spine, mauve end papers, miminal wear. In unclipped dust jacket with wear along the spine and flap folds, light soil. Pages bright and unmarked.

Livingston University Press, 1994. Soft cover. Very Good/Good. 91 pages, with index of first lines. Poems are grouped into four sections: Contraband, Contradance, Contradiction, and Counterpoint. 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" in white card wraps with a few faint foxing-like marks on front cover, dust soil to top edge, practically no wear; DJ decorated with lizard wearing a spiffy metallic plume has small spots of soil, rubbing, and light shelf wear, with sunned spine. Inscribed to friends Ann and Warner Berthoff "with lizardy good wishes". Corrections on approximately a dozen pages and the rear DJ flap, evidently handwritten by the author (with Eugene, one wouldn't know that they weren't printed in "handwritten" style, but three quarters of the corrections are in the same ink as the inscription). Evidently a concert program: "Lyrics by Eugene Walter, Music by Donald Ashwander, Fred Baldwin, Alexis Biolley & Francis Imbragulio". Performer listed after each poem (song): Phyllis Demetropoulos - soprano, Greg Riley - tenor, Teri Ann Willams - soprano, Linda Evans - alto. Most of the authors and performers are from the Gulf Coast, which suggests that the undated concert program may have been for an event in Eugene Walter's home town, Mobile, Alabama. The Willoughby Institute, 1987. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Very Good/Very Good. 59 pages. Poems by the inimitable Renaissance man from Mobile, Alabama, illustrated throughout with his drawings. Thirty-five poems including "The Quarterback's Lament" and such works of the Reagan era as "Goodbye to Mr. Edwin Meese, or, The Triumph of Dolly Parton". 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" paperback in cream card wraps with a little water stain at bottom of front cover, touch of dust soil/foxing to top edge, in DJ with tiny spots of soil, wear along top and to front bottom corner. Inscribed by the author on half-title to "Ann & Warner" (Berthoff), his friends. Her marks in the ToC - one indicating two poems listed in the wrong order, another bracketing a poem on Wanda Landowska that's listed in the ToC but doesn't appear in the book.

A whimsical alphabet in reverse, with texts and b&w illustrations (drawings and reproductions) throughout. 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" soft cover in self-wraps, pages printed on alternating pink and yellow paper, water spots and rippling to front cover inside and out, reading crease, crease to back cover at top corner. Inscribed by the author "with Pokey and Weedy greetings" and his name and swash. From the library of his friend Ann E. Berthoff (not stated). Our inventory # AEB-456 is a first edition of The Pokeweed Alphabet.

A whimsical alphabet in reverse, with texts and b&w illustrations (drawings and reproductions) throughout. 5-5/8" x 8-1/2" pamphlet style, stapled in pale blue wraps without visible wear, faded along fold, staples rusted, end papers pink, pages printed on alternating pink and yellow paper, slight soil and faintest foxing to top edge; DJ has some small soil spots, beginnings of a crease at front bottom corner. Signed by the author with his swash and "e". From the library of his friend Ann E. Berthoff (not stated).

"from a fable in 'The Sheik of Alexandria and his Slaves' by Wilhelm Hauff", Music by Hans Werner Henze, but this volume is the libretto only. "English Version by Eugene Walter" on label affixed to title page, covering a printed line containing a typo. Pamphlet format, 5-1/8" x 7-7/8", stapled in light-weight card wraps that are age-toned with light creases in a few places, staples rusted. Pages age-toned, unmarked.
