A 16-page preface precedes a two-volume catalogue of crisp, lovely plates, all formerly in the collection of E. Secrétan, and sold at this auction. Each work is annotated after its plate, tissue guards intact. A great collection of old masters and 'modern' artists. Second edition, two volumes as opposed to the first edition (Our inventory number) 14275, which is one compilation volume in leather. This edition also has a handwritten ledger (on Knoedler & Company stationary) of auction prices realized, in beautiful 19th century script on loose pages, tucked inside the cover.
