Original olive green cloth, double gilt border with swirls front, gilt lettering front surrounded by gilt border, gilt lettering and swirled end rules spine, original dark brown coated EPs. Much better condition than most copies, clean covers, bright gilt on front and spine, fading very tips of cover corners, tight binding, some shallow dents edges of rear cover from old string wrapping for mailing (books used to be mailed wrapped in paper bound vertically and horizontally with sturdy string), no foxing, solid binding, complete with all maps and plates, old owner name faintly stamped to corner of last blank page, otherwise no previous owner marks or writing on any pages. The book measures 237mm tall x 160mm, and has 409 pages, 4 folding maps (1 in pocket), 18 b/w plates, index. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
