Light foxing and moderate tanning to pages. Much heavier to text block edges, pastedowns, half title page and rear free endpaper. Moderate cracking to gutters and hinges causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean.

Inner hinge cracked, corners bumped, inscription to endpapers, light foxing, tear to journal page pullout, p553 torn.

Binding remains firm. Crinkling to pages at gutters. Pages detached but still present from Page vii - xii. Hinges are cracked with netting exposed. Pages remain bright and clear with minimal tanning. Occasional foxing. Minor dog eared corners. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. There is bumping to corners and crushing to spine ends. Tanning to spine and edges. Gilt lettering is darkened slightly. Splits to spine ends with fraying to cloth. Book has a slight forward lean. Price sticker to back.

Bookplate and quote from Rusking to front paste down, no other inscriptions, excellent engravings good condition internally, appears to have been only lightly read.
