Hardcover book, 9 3/4" 12 3/4", 310 pages - covers are good - soiled at all edges, but spine title bright, re-inforced at hinges with archival tape; book is very good, signs of use at end papers - all text and images fine and clear; 188 black-and-white and color illustrations with many, many additional drawings throughout the text.

Authoritative account of 18th century interiors of Great Houses. FRENCH TEXT. Ivory cloth cover with burgundy red lettering to spine. 12 1/2" Tall. Dark Brown discolouration to cloth at top and bottom (a band about 1" tall at the top and about 1/2" tall at the bottom.), front boards are worst affected, fainter discolouration to spine ends and rear boards. No inscriptions except tiny penciled price & ref no. on endpaper. Some age darkening to top and fore page edges and a few small spots of foxing. Bottom corners of rear endpaper and last page of index have some pieces worn away.
