Signed on first free end-paper "Henry can Dyke, The Hague, Xmas 1914", inscribed on obverse of frontis by author "Miss Rix, A good little book for a good little girl. Marehall Laughouse, Xmas 1914" Van Dyke was the US Minister to the Netherlands and Luxembourg between 1913 and 1916. Miss Rix seems to have been known to him during that period and afterwards. Also loose bookplate for Henry Van Dyke. Purple paper=-overed covers with cream decoration, cream linen spine with grey lettering, sound binding, clean pages, tissue protected sepia frontis. 59 pages. No dust-jacket. Quantity Available: 1.
