Fourth and best edition of one of the outstanding German hunting books of the period, first published in 1682. The 'Diana's Hunting Secrets' are divided into three parts, and cover practically the whole range of the arts of hunting, shooting, trapping, sporting dogs, etc. . . . The plates are curious and give a complete survey of all the features of the great state hunts which were organized in a lavish manner by most of the German potentates"--Schwerdt II, 246. A few of the plates show animals in a state of copulation.
