Stated First Edition, spine is faded some and stamped inside cover bookstore, previous owner name in ink below the stamp. The bottom spine end is short from the factory making any damage hard, the top is rather long but has little damage. DJ is missing large chunks and the front flap altogether, but it has one. This book is a nice gap filler. The page with the pencil paragraph I erased it but shadows remain.

I have seen this variant since 1925 on other titles as a variant. It is a stated First Edition and is not rebound, corner protectors, black cloth spine, paper labels. The book is fairly tight and clean and square. Please see the photos for more details.

The middle volume, The Store, won the 1933 Pulitzer Prize. All three volumes are in Good condition and lacking their dust jackets. Each has sunning to the spines and some scuffing to the edges. Hinges are tender in all volumes. All were owned by a single collector, whose inscription is on the front free endpaper of each volume. An affordable complete set of first editions of the classic trilogy of Southern literature.
